Presenting: Doctor Emma and Baby Rock Star Emma!

now..to offset that glum picture from the previous post. Today, I went in to emma's school, to look at some pictures they took a few weeks ago. Apparently, a picture company came in, and dressed the kids up a few weeks ago. Since it was a school fund-raiser, I was slightly more mollified to pay an arm and a leg for the next two photos. You'll have to admit that she looks more comfortable here.

(by the way, when I saw the notice that parents were to come in to view the photos, I asked Emma how/IF she smiled. She said she smiled, and then pulled her lips over her teeth in a wide grimmace. I have to admit I wasn't completely reassured..)

from last September...

Emma & Brandon are such fun, energetic little people, and they say and do the funniest things as well.

From last September, a 4-year old Emma started preschool. Picture day arrives 3 days into the school year, but we took a vacation to Hawaii, so emma missed that picture day. Make-up photos were a week after, where Emma was the only one to take photos (so no support system). I told her, Emma, you need to smile, ok? So we practiced and practiced. "Say Cheese! Smile!" Then I offered the ultimate incentive - I'll give her candy at the end of the day, if she smiled for her school picture.

When I got home from work, I asked: Emma, did you smile?
Emma: I didn't feel like smiling. I don't want candy.
