Happy 23 months, Emma!

Just 1 month shy of turning the big 2! Emma is wearing Ee-ba's ao sam! Notice how the top button is buttoned! I think Emma must have lost some weight to fit it! Yes, Emma isn't happy. The smiling pictures are on daddy's camera. Emma likes to hold my point and shoot camera while her dad snaps away. I took my camera back, and this is what Emma looks like! I also cut Emma's hair (this is pre-curled).

Brave Emma

We all went to the Supermall during the weekday (a few days before Anh An started working). Emma saw the carousel...and demanded to ride it.

Convo between Emma & Daddy:

Emma: wee!! Wee!!!

daddy: ok, we can go ride the carousel.

Picture of Emma & Daddy waiting in line:

Daddy: Emma, do you want to ride this horse?

Can you guess what happened?

Right. We paid $2 to ride the only non-horse on the carousel! Anything for Emma!

The next American Idol...

or an extra singer on Slum Dog Millionaire 2?

My dad (Emma's Ong Ngoai) has always said that when he heard me cry when I was born at the hospital, he knew I had a good voice. Emma has this husky baby voice..and her singing, well, she's got this distinctive voice! I think perhaps she watches too much Paris by Night. She likes to hold her microphone and sing and sing...she also has this expressive face, too! my cutey!

Just for Emma!

I made this for Emma.

Did she really need a pink flowered chair? Probably not! But- I was feeling like Emma deserved something that I can make, just because I CAN make things, and wouldn't have much time once baby comes. I had made puff quilts, decorated clothes, and even this chair for other babies, but Emma didn't have anything yet! No worries- no Emma was neglected during the making of this chair. It took me about two weeks to make it - working mainly at night when the sewing room was available and Emma was asleep. I had leftover polyfil and fabric, and velcro pieces that I was able to reuse, so I was proud of my thriftiness. A week into the making of this chair, anh An got a job offer :).
